TaxMargin Tally Connector (for taxmargin.com)
=============================================

What this software does
-----------------------
Just like Suvit's desktop connector, TaxMargin Tally Connector runs on your local
Windows PC alongside TallyPrime / Tally.ERP 9. It creates a secure local bridge
(on http://127.0.0.1:9988) so that the AutomationSuite web application hosted on
https://taxmargin.com can:
  1. Detect open companies in your local TallyPrime
  2. Fetch your company's Ledgers, Groups, and Voucher Types
  3. Create missing ledgers directly in TallyPrime
  4. Push bank statement vouchers (Payment, Receipt, Contra, Journal, and Splits)
straight into TallyPrime on your PC.

Requirements
------------
  1. Windows 10 or Windows 11 (64-bit). Nothing extra to install.
  2. TallyPrime or Tally.ERP 9 running on your PC with a company open and its
HTTP/XML port enabled (default port 9000):
     - In TallyPrime: press F1 (Help) > Settings > Connectivity >
Client/Server configuration > set "TallyPrime acts as" to "Both" (or "Server")
       and Port to 9000.

How to start
------------
  1. Extract this zip folder to a normal folder on your PC (e.g. C:\TaxMarginConnector).
  2. Double-click "Start TaxMargin Connector.cmd".
     - On first run, it automatically builds "TaxMarginConnector.exe" using Windows'
built-in .NET compiler and opens the TaxMargin Tally Connector window.
     - You can minimize the window to the Windows system tray while you work.
  3. Open https://www.taxmargin.com/tally-app/ in Chrome or Edge and sign in.
     - If your browser asks "taxmargin.com wants to look for and connect to any
device on your local network", click "Allow".
     - The header bar of the app will show "Connector: Connected" in green.
     - Click "Tally: not connected" > "Check connection" to select your open Tally
company, fetch ledgers, and push vouchers!

Security
--------
The connector only answers https://www.taxmargin.com and programs on this
PC. Any other website that tries to reach it is refused, so it cannot read
your ledgers or post vouchers into Tally.

Duplicate check
---------------
When you upload a statement, the website asks this connector for the bank
ledger's vouchers already in Tally for the statement's dates, and lists rows
that are already entered so you can delete them before sending. The
connector only reads from Tally for this; it never changes or deletes anything.
